ANSYS CFD - Computational Modeling of Multiphase Flows

This course is for professionals interested in understanding the phenomena associated with multiphase flows, as well as the main features of their computational modeling and appropriate use of these resources in the ANSYS CFX and ANSYS FLUENT commercial software.

METHODOLOGY:

Intensive training with ESSS specialists.

PROGRAM:

Part 1 - Theoretical Foundations:

1. Introduction:
 What is multiphase flow?
                a) Differences between multiphase and multicomponent flow.

 Applications.

2) Classification of multiphase flows;
  • Scatter-continuous;
  • Continuous-continuous;
  • Special topic: gas-liquid flow;
  • Flow patterns in ducts.
3) Two fluid model:
Homogeneous models:
              a) Algebraic Model;
              b) Euler-Euler;
              c) Free surface.

Algebraic Slip Model;,
Euler-Euler:
            a) Continuous-continuous phases;
            b) Continuous-dispersed phases;
            c) Volume-of-fluid (VOF);
            d) Euler-granular.

4) Lagrangean approach.

Part 2 - Applications:
Simulations with the use of ANSYS CFX and FLUENT software with applications highlighting the main characteristics and differences in the use of the models applied to multiphase flows. The examples will be interspersed with the theoretical Grounding.
